 Marketing Associate Program Overview

  • Role: Associate
  • Experience: 3 – 36 months of relevant experience
  • Title: Management Associate
  • Company: Umati Capital (Kenya) Limited
  • Location: Nairobi, Kenya
  • Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

The Opportunity

  • The Hire is targeted at building future leaders of Umati Capital. The Hire would support the execution of our marketing strategy focused on designing and creating content across mediums and channels relevant to our customers. The Hire will rotate through the marketing business unit based on both interest and skills: product development, marketing asset design and copywriting with implementation, execution of marketing campaigns across all digital and mobile channels.
  • The Hire is continuously assessed for competency and fit to ultimately take ownership of one or more roles in our company. For top-performing candidates, we have successfully promoted as early as one month into the program.
  • There is a path for career growth within Umati Capital for the right candidate that is willing to learn and work toward that goal.

Your first 1 week

  • Learn Umati Capital’s products and messaging
  • Learn the tools necessary to be successful: CRM, online digital marketing creation tools, Google office suite and other Umati technology tools
  • Engage with incoming and active clients
  • Start executing tasks for the marketing business unit
  • Work with mentors to set goals for yourself to gain consideration to promotion

Your Next 3 months

  • Continuing executing all tasks for marketing business unit
  • Consistently meet goals for initial meeting set up
  • Continue to build on your core skills and product/industry knowledge
  • Know what it takes to meet or exceed your goals and maintain the momentum to do so
  • Begin to expand your knowledge of all duties and responsibilities
  • Work with mentors to set goals for yourself to gain consideration to promotion

Compensation

  • KES 30,000 monthly gross stipend
  • Standard benefits as defined in Employment Act (for a Contractor)

Who We Look For

  • We are looking for individuals looking to join a fast-growing technology-enabled financial services firm. The ideal candidate is comfortable being surrounded by incredibly smart and driven people that push them to be better. We are looking for the following traits:

Basic

  • Background or experience in design and writing

Recommended

  • Background or experience in defining digital marketing collateral through graphic design and copywriting
  • Background or experience in marketing

Recruiting Process

  • Our process is intensive and based fully on merit. We only want the best and the brightest who are motivated to excel in our fast-growing enterprise. The recruiting process is extremely selective.
  • Less than 5% are offered a position and less than 50% complete the program

After you have reviewed these courses, complete the test below.

  • Once you complete, we will notify you if you have advanced to the next round. We typically respond in about 1 business day after you have submitted. If you do not receive a response, you are welcome to try again.

Second Round: Second Online Aptitude Test, Virtual Assignment, and In-Person Case Assignment with Presentation

  • Umati Capital will select the top tier candidates to complete three assignments: a second online aptitude test focused on digital marketing, a virtual assignment that can be completed anywhere with internet access, and an in-person design and copy- focused case assignment at Umati Capital’s offices in Westlands.

Third Round: In-Person Interview

  • Finalists are selected for an in-person interview at Umati Capital’s offices in Westlands.
